AFTER MUCH CONSIDERATION AND TALKING WITH LOCAL METEOROLOGISTS TODAY, WE DO NOT FEEL WE CAN PROVIDE SAFE CONDITIONS FOR THE SPRING SPRINT TOMORROW ON APRIL 9 IN MARYVILLE. WITH CHANCES OF RAIN/SNOW MIX AND "FEEL LIKE" TEMPS OF 24 DEGREES (WITH WIND) AT THE START OF THE RACE, WE WILL POSTPONE THIS RACE TO SAT, MAY 21. SAME TIME AND LOCATION. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE, BUT SAFETY COMES FIRST AS FAR AS ROAD SURFACE CONDITIONS AND THE OVERALL WELL-BEING OF PARTICIPANTS WITH THE PREDICTED WET/COLD CONDITIONS.
EVERYONE WILL REMAIN REGISTERED FOR THE NEW RACE DATE. NO REFUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE. WE WILL PLAN TO SEE YOU ON MAY 21!

THE VIRTUAL RACE WILL BE STAGED FROM 12:01 AM SATURDAY MARCH 26 UNTIL 11:59 PM SATURDAY May 21, 2022. THE TRADITIONAL 5K RACE WILL BE STAGED AT 7:45 AM SATURDAY May 21, 2022.
THE VIRTUAL EVENTS MAY BE RAN ANYWHERE FROM MARCH 26, 2022 UNTIL May 21, 2022.
THE TRADITIONAL 5K RUN AND 1 MILE FUN RUN/WALK STAGED IN EVERETT PARK May 21, 2022.
This is the 1st Event of the 2022 Healthy Blount Triple Crown of Running 2nd Event - Scholars Run, July 30, 2022. 3rd Event - Reindeer Run, December 4, 2022. Those participating in ALL THREE TRADITIONAL events will be eligible for Triple Crown cash awards, door prizes, and a special memento. If you are unable to participate in ALL THREE events, you still have a chance at winning the great Triple Crown door prizes worth a minimum of $50 each if you participate in the Reindeer Run and at least one of the other two Triple Crown events. You are eligible whether you participate in the 5K Run or the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk.
LOCATION/COURSE: The Spring Sprint will be staged Saturday, MAY 21, 2022 in Everett Park, 702 Burchfield Street, Maryville (and parking accessible coming in to the park off of Everett High Road). Registration area will take place in front of the Everett Senior Center. Start line is on Burchfield Street and Finish Line is in the park on the hill above the softball fields.
We will offer a 'Run Anywhere" virtual 5K and 1 Mile option for our race this year. The virtual events will allow participants to run their selected distance on any course they choose between March 26, 2022 and May 21, 2022. We will furnish the RaceJoy app (for virtual participants only) that will allow participants to measure their time and distance using their smartphone. The app will let them know when they have completed the correct distance and will then log their time on the race website. Detailed instructions on the usage of the app will be supplied prior to May 21, 2022. Participants who choose one of the virtual options may pick up their shirt at the Pre Race Package Pickup and Registration: Thursday, May 19, 2022 6 to 8 pm Dick's Sporting Goods in Hamilton Crossing - 221 Hamilton Crossing Drive Alcoa, TN 37701 or at the Parks & Rec. office approximately up to 2 weeks after the race. Participants in the virtual events will not be eligible age group awards, Triple Crown awards, or prizes.
