Description:
Join us for our annual 5K/10K/1Mi Strawberry Chase! New for 2021, we will offer a virtual 5K/10K in addition to the traditional 5K/10K.
The virtual race will be a "Run Anywhere" event. Participants in this event will be able to run/walk any 5K or 10K course that they choose anytime between 12:00 AM April 17, 2021 and 11:59 PM May 8, 2021. Participants will be able to utilize the RaceJoy app to record their time and distance. Participants may also post their Virtual Results manually on the registration website if they prefer.
The traditional course is flat and fast through historic Downtown Dayton, TN. It begins and ends at the Rhea County Community Center (Rc3- formerly the Rhea Family YMCA) and is professionally timed.
Both events raise funds to provide fitness equipment for the Rhea County Community Center, a non-profit wellness organization which seeks to build a healthy community.
Packet Pickup May 7, 2021 6-8 PM at Rc3 and day of race.

6:30 AM - Day-of REGISTRATION and packet pick-up
7:45 AM - 5K and 10K start
9:15AM - 1 Mile start
5K Traditional - $30 (after April 25 - $35) 5K Virtual - $25
10K Traditional - $35 (after April 25 - $40) 10K Virtual - $25
1 Mi Fun Run/Walk - $15 (after April 25 - $20)Awards: Finisher medals only for the 5K/10K virtual event. Participants in the traditional event will receive finisher medals(5K/10K)/ ribbons (1 mile) or medals that will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place overall male and female, 1st place in age groups, and Masters male and female (40+). Strawberries, a 3-month membership to Rc3, and other gift certificates and prizes are also awarded to overall winners as well as to Masters. Top 3 girls and boys, 12 years old and under and top 3 men and women, 50 years old and over will receive medals for the 1 mile race.
5k and 10k participants receive performance shirts. Virtual Event participants and 1 milers receive a cotton shirt.
Strawberries, bagels, water and more will be provided for runners.
Strollers and dogs are welcome but will start at the back of the pack.
10k is a double loop route.
