In light of these unique times, Hot To Trot has made the decision to officially shift to a virtual event which will allow our participants to race your way! All participants can race on the Hot To Trot 5k course or in their local neighborhood between Wed Nov Nov 25 – Sun Nov 29. Simply select the type of run you’d like to participate in:
- 5k Certified Course - participants race on the Hot To Trot 5k, the Veteran's Salute 5k or the Run for Autism 5k course, eligible for age group awards.
- 5k Un-certified Course - participants race on any 5k route, not eligible for age group awards.
- 1 mile walk/run - anywhere event utilizing any 1 mile route that the participant chooses.
Race Swag:
- 5k - Technical long-sleeved t-shirt and FF/BoCO technical mask
- Fun Run - Long sleeved cotton t-shirt for Fun Run
Awards: Handmade awards by local artist Stony Clay Station in Lenoir City.
Overall awards: 1st Male, 1st Female, 1st Master Male, 1st Master Female, 1st Grand Master Male, & 1st Grand Master Female, 1st Senior Grand Master Male & 1st Senior Grand Master Female
Age group awards: 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the following male and female age groups:<10, 11-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-79, 80+
Packet Pickup: All packets will be delivered by mail.
How does our virtual race work?
Between Wed Nov Nov 25 and Sun Nov 29, run or walk the virtual course that you chose when you registered. This event offers several virtual versions of walk/run events- a 1 mile walk/run anywhere event utilizing any 1 mile route that the participant chooses and several 5K events - one utilizing any 5K route that the participant chooses and three that will utilize a certified 5K course. Each choice will allow use of the RaceJoy application from RunSignup to capture and record time and distance or a participant can record their time for any of the "run anywhere" courses using their Garmin, FitBit, or whatever method they choose and manually submit their time.
The only requirement for the "run anywhere" events is that the participants complete the walk/run in one session. Participants may utilize the RaceJoy application to record their time and distance or they can manually record and submit their time. We will post the time on the RunSignUp and Total Race Solutions sites. No awards for the "run anywhere" events.
The participants who choose the Walk/Run on a certified course option will be required to walk/run a certified course. We have chosen three certified courses — Hot To Trot 5k, Veteran Salute 5k, or Autism 5k. In order to be eligible for awards for one of the certified courses, participants must utilize the RaceJoy Application to record their time. Only results captured and posted on the RaceJoy application will be eligible for age group awards.
