Thanks to Todd Temple of T2Design for the special 2020 'Possum Chase hiatus T-shirt design. Both long sleeve and short sleeve JERZEES Dri-Power 50/50 shirts (5.4 oz. 50/50 pre-shrunk cotton/polyester) will be available for purchase through this RunSignUp site. Shirt orders will be accepted through Tuesday, September 22, 2020. The cost listed includes: the shirt, shipping of the shirt, and a small donation to the Corryton Hospitality Food Pantry housed in Rutherford Memorial United Methodist Church in Corryton. We are building in the shipping cost because we do not know if we would be able to have an in-person pickup of shirts in October due to COVID-19. We are planning to mail all of the shirts. If, however, we are able to have an in-person pickup of shirts October 5-17, 2020, the $4.00-$5.00 shipping amount will become an additional donation to the Corryton Food Pantry; the $4.00-$5.00 shipping cost will not be refunded. We want to be up front about that. If you want to order additional shirts for family members, you can do so with the RunSignUp "Add-On" option during the order/registration process. Only the first shirt has the shipping cost automatically added. Add-On shirts will be listed at shirt cost: $7 for short sleeve, and $11 for long sleeve, (add $2 for XXL and $3 for XXXL). Since this is not a virtual race (it's a hiatus year), there will be no age group awards or finisher medals. All of our awards are individually hand-made, and we are not doing that this year. Also, there will be no knitted items this year. The Tennessee Valley Machine Knitters are taking a break from opossums this year to knit for other charity projects. Thank you for your support of the Corryton Food Pantry and the Corryton Races!

Due to safety concerns for runners and volunteers related to COVID-19, the 2020 Corryton 'Possum Chase 2-Miler and 8-Miler races have been cancelled. The majority of our race committee and race volunteers are seniors and placing them in any large group setting is not recommended by health guidelines at this time. We are excited to begin our planning for the 2021 Corryton 'Possum Chase 2-Miler and 8-Miler races highlighted by our beautiful race courses, our handcrafted awards, and our biscuits and gravy breakfast. To commemorate this "unique " year we have asked Todd Temple of T2Design to create a special Possum Chase hiatus T-shirt that can be purchased in coming weeks through the RunSignUp web site. Thanks to each of you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at the 2021 Corryton 'Possum Chase in October of next year.
