April 6, 2019 Update!
We deeply regret to inform you that this year's Ozone Endurance Challenge had to be postponed until 2020, due to unexpected critical repairs at the host camp. Erosion around the Lake Ozone outlet (further exacerbated by recent historic flooding) must be addressed immediately to prevent the dam from potentially failing. Contractors have mobilized heavy equipment equipment on site this week to start work on it. They must drain the lake first so they can excavate part of the dam and perform the required repairs. The work is expected to last into June, if not longer (weather permitting). Since the OEC race course crosses the dam every 2 miles, this directly impacts our ability to produce the OEC event until they have completed the repairs and the camp has returned to normal operations.
We know you have come to expect the best possible experience at our events. Unfortunately, these circumstances are beyond our control and won't allow us to deliver that to you this time. So along with you, we are very disappointed that we won't be able to have the event this year. However, we'll patiently wait for these essential repairs to be completed, knowing that our host camp will be the better for it next year. So... we excitedly look forward to returning in 2020, and cranking up an even bigger and better all day (and all night!) Zoner party with you ultra-crazy folks!
