YMCA Fall Virtual 5K & Fun Walk

We are disappointed that we cannot stage our race as scheduled with all participants coming together in person. Please know that our main priority is the health and safety of all our participants and staff. We are still excited about having our race virtually and there will be lots of fun for all involved. Run or walk with your family at a course of your choosing while wearing your YMCA race shirt!
How does our virtual race work? Between the dates of October 3 and October 24, run or walk the virtual course distance that you chose when you registered. Our event will offer two virtual versions: a 1 mile route and a 5K route that the participant chooses. A participant can record their time for either of the "run anywhere" courses using their Garmin, FitBit, or whatever method they choose and manually submit their time.
Then login to https://runsignup.com/Race/TN/Athens/TheResurrectionRun5Kand1MileFunWalk to submit your run/walk time to share with fellow participants and encourage others (or keep your time to yourself - we won't judge!).
The only requirement for the "run anywhere" events is that the participants complete the walk/run in one session. No awards for the "run anywhere" events.
STEPS:
1). Register online for the Virtual 5K or 1 Mile Fun Run
2). Run/walk your 5K or 1 mile distance anytime between when you register and October 24.
3). Record your run/walk by using Strava, Garmin, iWatch, Fit Bit or any other method (or don't record your time at all - results are for entertainment purposes only!)
4). (OPTIONAL) Submit your results online and see how you compare to others.
5). (OPTIONAL) Take a selfie after you've completed your virtual race, write about your experience and share it on social media using the hashtag #AthensYMCA5k

Short sleeve 50/50 blend commemorative t-shirt** Everyone registered by September 25 will be guaranteed a race shirt. Everyone registering after September 25 will be provided a shirt based on available sizes.
Your registration fee directly contributes to our LIVESTRONG program for cancer survivors and patients. Without your support, our friends who need us the most may not have the opportunity to join a supportive and transformative program like LIVESTRONG.
