Description:

This event is an endurance race with designed to test the body, mind and spirit of participants regardless of fitness and experience level. Overcomers will run, climb, jump, crawl, and muscle their way through to conquer the obstacles along the way similar to the journey that survivors of domestic and sexual violence take to recover and reclaim their lives. The life of a survivor of violence is full of obstacles and offers supportive services to help them over-come throughout East Tennessee and beyond.

The event will be held at Frank Loreno Park  Morristown, TN 37813


Registration starts at 8:00 am and will continue through the final wave of racers.

Each participant will receive a medal and a t-shirt.
First wave start at 9am and a new wave will begin every 15 minutes. 
First wave is the Elite Wave for those wishing to be timed and be in the running for an award.

Competitive Endurance Challenge:
$20 extra
Must compete in the Elite Wave to receive a time.
Complete as many laps as you can after the initial lap.
Receive a pin to go on your medal for each lap completed.
First to finish 4 extra laps receives an award.

Work Now! Hill Tire Crawl   While dragging the weight of their trauma, Overcomers have to crawl before they can run.

Sandbag Carry   Survivors have to carry the burden of their trauma with them for the rest of their lives.

Web of Lies   Abusers often control their victims with an elaborate web of lives.

Roll, Roll, Roll   The Cycle of violence is a repetitive pattern of behaviors by the abuser intended to control the victim.

Flex Freedom Strong Wall   Victims face challenges that require help from others to overcome.

The Pit of Despair   Adults and children who experience domestic violence have increased risk to experience depression.

Burke-Alley Slant Wall   Sometimes the barriers get bigger and require even more help.

Flex Freedom Stronger Wall   In the end, overcomers pull themselves up and over with support and encouragement!

Porter Tire Uphill Run   Every step has the potential to trip up an overcomer.

Give a Flip   Moving large obstacles like culturally accepted violence is a task for everyone.

Regain Your Balance Beams   Trauma knocks victims off balance and healing happens only when balance is restored.

WSCC Goal Traverse   Survivors must hang on and keep moving forward to Overcome abuse.

Mahle Tire Pull   Often victims are held back by fear, lies, and lack of resources.

Lowe's Slam Ball   Overcomers persevere through the rise and fall of their belief in their own ability to survive and thrive.

Frogger   Setting and reaching goals helps survivors overcome daily challenges.

Power Bars   With each move forward survivors conquer their fear of falling and regain their power. 

Tuff Torq Log Carry   The burden of violence is awkward and difficult to carry.

Hay You, Yes You!   Everyone must rise to the challenge to end domestic violence.

Roger's Petroleum BMX Track   Abusive relationships are very unstable and survivors struggle to keep their footing while carrying the weight of their trauma.

Downhill Crawl   Beaten down physicially and emotionally, overcomers have to crawl before they can run.

Tunnel of Hopes   Abusers put victims in a very dark place where they often have a steep, uphill climb to reach the light at the end of the tunnel.
